Our Vision

To be a nationally recognized model grief support and training program, with the puprose of restoring hope to children and those who love them.

Our Mission

The New Song Center provides a loving environment where children can share and heal their grief following the death of someone they love.

We are a spiritually based, non-denominational organization, that does not present specific religious beliefs.

We believe that children's grief issues are important and need to be recognized and resolved.

We believe that each child has the potential to heal himself when provided with an accepting and supportive environment.

We believe directed activity is a component in the process of healing children's grief.

We are a community oriented program with an outreach extending to religious organizations, schools, health care facilities, social agencies, and other organizations.

We encourage cooperation and respect among people of different ethnic and religious orientations.

We believe there is no pain, loss, or grief so great that love, in time cannot heal.

Our Approach

We provide a place where mutual support is offered. Play, listening, and sharing are used to foster acceptance.

We believe that each of us has within ourselves our own answers to life's complex problems. By supporting each other and by listening to our inner voices, we will come to know our own truths.

We recognize that both facilitators and participants are her for their growth and the goal for all is peronal healing and inner peace.

We consider the roles of student and teacher as interchangeable, we all teach and learing from each other.

Our Credo

The harmony of our lives has changed.

Someone we love has died.

We are a center for kids and those who love us.

We are here talking, sharing, crying and laughing, playing and working together.

We share our sadness and the sorrow of missing someone special in our lives.

We share the gladness of meeting new friends.

We are all very different, some of us are very young, some of us are older.

We represent many races and many faiths.

We are a special sort of "new" family, bonded together, learning to say good-bye.

to sorrow and holding on to the memory of our special someone.

We are growing through grief, learning a new harmony.

We are sharing and singing a new song together.

We are the New Song Center Family.
