Evening Family Support Program

A bi-monthly ongoing grief support program for families with children ages 4-17. Each evening consists of four age related children's groups and two to three separate but concurrent adult groups. All groups are designed to allow each participant an opportunity to express their grief in a safe supportive environment. Each group is facilitated by trained volunteers dedicated to the New Song Center mission and model. Each night is also staffed by an Evening Coordinator. Currently there are three separate evening programs; two at our Scottsdale location and one in Phoenix. There is no fee for families to attend these support groups. Young Adult Program

An ongoing grief support program specifically designed for young adults without children ages 18-26. This group is facilitated by trained volunteers dedicated to the New Song Center mission and model, and is staffed by an evening coordinator. The group provides young adults with a safe and supportive place where they can grieve the death of a loved one and meet others in this age range that may have similar circumstances and issues. There is no fee charged for young adults to attend. Grief at School

New Song Center, in collaboration with American Hospice Foundation, Hospice of Arizona, and Stepping Stones of Hope offers a variety of in-services and workshops designed to assist faculty and administrators in the school setting understand and become more responsive to grieving students. These workshops cover a wide range of issues including identifying and supporting the grieving student to suicide ideation, cultural perspective of grief, and crisis response planning. Grief at School is a fee-based program, the cost of which is covered by the school or school district requesting on-campus student support.

Grief at Work

New in 2006, Grief at Work is an education program of in-service workshops designed to assist the medical and business communities understand and become more responsive to grief and loss issues. First offered in hospitals, and with plans to expand into other business environments during 2007, topics include understanding normal versus complicated grief, how to break bad news, and self care. Grief at Work is a fee-based program.

Support Groups on School Campus

New Song Center provides an eight-week support group program that can be delivered on school campuses. This program is specially designed to support the grieving student while in the school setting. Students are introduced to other grieving students, allowed safe exploration of feelings, and are supported through and educated about the grieving process. New Song Center staff and volunteers facilitate the groups, providing all necessary materials and work in cooperation with school counselors
