New Song Center Board Member Responsibilities

  • To be a knowledgeable, positive voice for The New Song Center for Grieving Children. To become familiar with the organization's purpose, history, philosophy, goals, objectives and needs.
  • In order to achieve this end, we ask for board member participation in:
    • Annual Board Orientation
    • One "monthly" Program Evening each year
    • Attendance at the first session of the facilitator training class
    • Attendance at the annual fundraising event and the purchase or sale of 1 table for ten.
    • Attendance at the regular monthly board of directors meeting
  • To support the fund raising goals of the organization by making an annual financial contribution.
  • To be an active, participating member of a Board Committee
  • To work as an active, committed team member to secure the future of The New Song Center by developing and managing policies and procedures. To remain informed concerning the business of the board and the organization by exercising due diligence in all board responsibilities
  • To participate personally, throughout the year, in supporting fundraising projects and events
  • To actively support the financial goals of the organization through personal fundraising efforts
  • To be a representative of The New Song Center for Grieving Children to the community, as opportunities arise, in the areas of public relations, board recruitment and networking
  • To be elected to the board for a term of three (3) years and eligible for a maximum of three (3) terms.
